Were on our way home boohoo!

Selah :)
Today we end our trip and come home. I had a lot of fun on this trip, and am glad I went on it. My favorite part was visiting Alcatraz. Unfortunately I have to start school after this, but i'm glad i'll have this trip to talk about. So its time to say goodbye to the trip and hello to the long trip home.

Los Osos Skatepark

Montana de Oro sunset
After all this TRAVELING stuff, i'm worn out, but i'm glad I went on this trip!
I had a lot of fun and we got to do a lot of things that I have never done before! We went to two skate parks and skated around and I got practice! YAY! Heres a recap on the cool stuff we saw and did; Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Steam Train thru the redwood trees, San Francisco cable cars, Alcatraz, Pt. reyes lighthouse (but was fogged over) James Dean Memorial site, and Bubblegum alley in San luis Obispo, (Selah put a piece of gum on the wall). We also got to my uncles aunts and surf cousin MacKenzie.

Thanks everyone for letting us hang out!

The Drive to San Luis Obispo

We got up early an drove to SLO. We stopped for lunch at Subway, YUM.
When we got to Los Osos we checked out the skatepark and played in the park with Mackenzie and Sophie. We ended the day with a movie with Uncle Timmy. Big Sky for breakfast and some beach time stil to come.

Scenic Drive and then Fog wins again

point reyes light house fogged in
we didnt get to walk the 302 stairs, bummer

This is where you talk about the scenic drive and wanting ice cream and playing animal crossing. then seeing the banana slug and how it was really sunny and nice till we got to the lighthouse.

more wild life

Now you talk about exploring the docks where uncle kerry ended his race and pizza and what ever else you want to say.

Cable Cars and Fog Oh my!

Today we went to San Francisco where we had planed to ride the trolly and then walk across the golden gate bridge, but unfortunately there was way to much fog to see anything. Instead we rode around on the cable cars for awhile then we got off and went to Fisherman's Wharf. While we were there we got our awesome hats (mine is an elephant and Lily's is a unicorn) and had lunch. Lunch was really fun because there were so many seagulls and they wold always try and steal your food. One actually stole a piece of Dacia's fish!
We rode the cable cars with Aunt Dacia and mom

We went to uncle Kerrys sailboat to have dinner and watch the sunset

San Fransisco was sooo much fun! There was a pantomime, and i didnt have any money, so when he was frozen, i went up and shook his hand, and when i walked away, he took his fake gun and shot me!
evil pantomime!
Later we went to my uncles sailboat "Alafair " which means pretty lady. We had dinner and wandered around the docks and played hide and seek!. My uncle Kerry and Aunt Jennifer are very cool. :)

Alcatraz... if you don't follow the rules you go to prison...if you don't follow prison rules you get sent to Alcatraz.

Selah :)
Regulation #5- You are entitled food, clothing, shelter, and medical attention. Anything else you get is a privilege.
Today we were sent to Alcatraz where we learned a lot of its very interesting history. La Isla de los Alcatraces (island of the sea birds) was originally built as a military base and because they happened to catch many war prisoners there it eventually turned in to a prison for the worst of the worst. Eventually because of busted up buildings and costing a lot to run Alcatraz closed in1963.
Later the indians believed that they should get to stay on the island because we had kicked them off of almost all of their homelands forcing them in to reservations, and that Alcatraz was indian land. They only got to stay there for for a for about 18 months from 1969 to 1971. After that Alcatraz was no longer in use by anyone except as a home for birds as the tourist attraction we saw today.

 George "Machine Gun" Kelly
Alcatraz..... is not entirely impossible to escape from! There have been 14 escape attempts involving 36 people in Alcatraz's (approximately) 30 years as a non-military prison.  26 were caught, 6 were shot during the escape, and 2 were drowned due to the harsh currents and freezing cold water. One attempt involved the prisoners breaking off the scoop part of lunch spoons and using the handle as a pick, over the course of a year breaking away at the brick! I cant imagine what it must be like, being so close, yet so far away to freedom! San Francisco City less than a mile and a half away! Prisoners, if disobedient, would be sent to the Treatment Unit :(
