Through the Redwoods we go!

         Today was a really fun day filled with PEZ and redwood trees. This morning we went on a steam train that was built in 1916 through the beautiful redwood forest which had trees in it that were up to 3,000 years old!  The Train is steam powered and goes up a 8 and a half percent grade, which is steep for a train. It was a really cold and kind of damp ride but we were able to enjoy a really fun ride through the forest, and we got some good pictures too. Later in the day we went to the PEZ museum and drove up to Lily's Aunt and Uncles house where we will be staying.

         PEZ MUSEUM! It was really fun, because the lady (whose son started the collection) told us all about the different PEZ. They had collected around 900 PEZ! The museum also had lots of recalled toys! Did you know one really old cabbage patch kid had a mechanical mouth that kept chewing, no matter if children's hair or fingers got stuck? Scary! Heres something interesting we learned, Mr. Potato Head was the first toy to be advertised on network television. Also LEGO comes from Leg Godt which means "play well" in Danish.
I got a PEZ truck with moving wheels and the cat from Bob the Builder thats retired! Mom got an old Mickey Mouse PEZ and Selah also got a cat and a truck!

Santa Cruz Boardwalk Rocks! And the skatepark is pretty cool too!

    Today we got a chance to sleep in (although i was woken up by someone i know) and had Cheerios for breakfast. After that we hung out in the hotel room for a little while until Mel had to go bank and discovered a cool skate park! We decided to go there where Lily and I practiced a lot and had a lot of fun. Once we got home all sweaty and hot we jumped in the pool really quick to cool off. After that we went to the Boardwalk  and had a lot of fun doing all kinds of things such as riding all kinds of rides( baby ones included), doing a super cool spy thingy which was basically a room full off lasers that you had to get through, laser tag, meeting a cute little boy who followed us around for a while, eating tornado fries( one really log twisty french fry), and eating deep fried twinkies! First post! At the INN!

           Well,  today Selah and I left home at about 6:30 AM, off on a week long trip to see some classic CA sights. Our first stop on the way was breakfast at IHOP in the middle of who knows where :)  I had macaroni and cheese! YUMMY. Then we purchased some snacks and went back on the road :) We arrived at the Coastview Inn in Santa Cruz about 1:30. We took a walk and took pictures for a couple of hours. We saw sea lions by the pier and they were loud. When we got tired of that we put on our wetsuits and blew up the surf mat and swam around for a little bit then went swimming in the INN's pool :) Pizza and a little skateboarding before we headed back to blog and rest up for a full day on the Boardwalk tomorrow.

          HB straight up to Santa Cruz. It was a long drive, but we found ways to keep ourselves occupied with Nintendo DS, Music, Napping...lots of napping. Not Mel though she stayed awake behind the wheel. When we finally arrived we went straight to the boardwalk and took a bunch of pictures. We didnt ride any rides today that wll be all day fun tomorrow. After awhile we went to the pier to take pics where we saw a bunch of adorable seals that would even pose for us! Finally after a long day we got some pizza and ice cream and went to relax in our room :)
